Description

Three colors, three regions, three singular philosophies of minimal intervention.

This pack was designed for those looking to step out of the ordinary. We have gathered three producers who challenge conventions: an ecosystem guardian in Dão, a surfer winemaker on the Lisbon coast, and a scientist couple in an urban winery in Belém.

It is a selection that spans the full spectrum — White, Rosé, and Red — united by authenticity, by Atlantic and mountain influence, and by the refusal to standardize wine. Ideal for an eclectic dinner or for those wishing to explore the fascinating “B-side” of Portuguese wines.

The Pack Composition:

1. The High Altitude White: João Tavares de Pina Euforia 2022 (Dão) João Tavares de Pina is one of the most restless voices of the Dão. This white, coming from Quinta da Boavista (Penalva do Castelo), reflects his obsession with biodiversity and granite soils. Made with Bical and Cerceal, it ferments and ages in chestnut barrels, a traditional Portuguese wood that gives it a unique texture without masking the fruit.

On the palate: Vibrant and mineral, with only 11% alcohol. It presents citrus and floral notes and a long, tense finish. A “naked” wine, without fining or filtration.

2. The Atlantic Rosé: Safado 2022 (Lisboa) Emanuel Frutuoso divides his life between the waves and the vineyards, and this character marks his wines. Safado Rosé is not a poolside rosé; it is a serious and gastronomic wine, born from old Tinta Roriz vines on clay-sandy soils in Bombarral. Fermentation in used barrels gives it mouth volume, while the Atlantic influence ensures a cutting freshness.

On the palate: Far from artificial sweetness, it is dry, saline, and structured. Pure ocean freshness bottled.

3. The Urban Red: Adega Belém Senhor Rita 2021 (Lisboa) Produced in Lisbon’s first urban winery, in a former car repair shop in Belém, this wine is the fruit of the minds of two former scientists, David Picard and Catarina Moreira. The Castelão grapes come from a windy coastal vineyard (Carcavelos), subject to slow maturation. The name “Senhor Rita” plays with conventions, but the wine is serious business: spontaneous fermentation and long aging in French oak.

On the palate: An Atlantic profile red, where red fruit (raspberry) mixes with earthy and complex notes. Elegant, fresh, and full of personality.
